108 Sun Salutations are traditionally done for seasonal cleansing practices. This is a physical practice, and some yoga experience is recommended. A meditative state will emerge as we cycle through the body's rhythms and synchronize the breath with each intentional movement.
Together we will cycle through 4 sets of 27 salutations, resting between each set, resetting our intention for each cycle and learning more about the history of this practice. I've chosen classical sun salutations as they provide the benefit of lunging and pausing while being easier on the joints than the power sun salutations. Music accompanies this special class right to the end where we enjoy a lengthy spinal twist and long, much deserved savasana. Your mind, body and spirit will be grateful for the experience. I invite you to take this cleanse every season with me.
Spring Equinox: Saturday March 15, 2014, 12:00pm to 2:30pm
Summer Solstice: Saturday June 21, 2014, 1:00 - 3:30
